We need your help
Life is one hard place to live in. All the years struggle really add up. Imagine how many buckets we would fill if we truly let ourselves cry when the pain got to us. We endure all the fear, worry, stress, insult, rejection, dejection, embarrassment, and many more. Even if you have been fortunate, I bet you know a lot of people who have not been. And if you have been even more fortunate to be surrounded by people with good circumstances, then you have at least driven past or watched the TV and seen a tortured soul. The worst part of all the suffering, is that there is a significant number of people who don't deserve to suffer, like the kids who just happened to be born into the mud pit.
This brings me to the point of this piece. First let me ask a question: If you had to chance to sing the national anthem in front of a stadium full of people, and you knew that you risked embarrassing yourself because you weren't sure of the words, would you still go ahead and do it. You would either decline, or if you loved the chance so much, you would take time learning the words and the training your voice for the next opportunity. So why is it then that so many people choose have children at a time when they are not capable of being adequate parents. Look at all the teen pregnancy numbers to get an idea of what I mean. And its not just there, but also married people who spend all day away from their kids coz both parents have to work to pay off that Lexus and the Plasma TV, or the $300,000 mortgage. I mean, kids need love and attention and if we don't spend time to guide our future generations, but leave it to the hands of people who couldn't care less, then I must humbly but honestly say that we are seriously screwed.
I need not say more because the statistics abound with reports of teens using sex and drugs to fill the emotional void left by their parents, and the news is filled with cries about the declining quality of education, and the high drop-out rates. All I'm trying to say is, we gotta spread the word about preparedness, coz our kids are so precious that we must get it right, instead of hoping to make it work. Wait till you are financially and emotionally stable to have children. Please don't have them until you can raise them. I've heard tears from lonely children for so many years; I've seen these children grow up to be troubled teens, and then later to wrecked adults. It may not happen every single time, but it happens enough times for us to stop taking chances. Our children need us to show them the way. Not just to tell them how it is, but to actually guide them, and the gradually ease off. A baby sitter isn't good enough. We've gotta make sure we're there for them, especially while they're still little and impressionable. Because after those crucial developmental years pass, then its pretty much a one in a million chance that we will ever make a connection with them again. I hope we all take this seriously and spread the word. It is our future, and we must take control of it.
But don't take my word for it. Check the stats and do your research like you would if you were starting up a business. See what absentee parenting leads to. See what they say about what most emotionally-deprived children grow up to be. I'm not calling for smothering (as a matter of fact pls avoid this). But do be there to guide, protect, support, and love.
A little more real
When I started this blog, I intended to write words that would enlighten my readers, making information a secondary objective, and entertainment a tertiary goal. After all, what good is an informed mind, if the mind is not clear on how to use that information. And more importantly, whats the use in entertaining (which is actually a synonym for 'distracting') readers if after enjoying the laughter they are left in the same predicaments they were in before. My hope is that I will inspire those who read here to face reality and step back to comprehend the rat race that we're all running. I borrow this saying from somewhere I don't remember and it goes "The problem with winning a rat race is that after winning, you're still a rat." I hope that my words will make readers see that we should aspire to rise above rathood (if there is such a word), instead of trying to become quicker rats.
I understand that this 'boring,' 'deep,' 'dry,' style of writing my cost me some readership, which would take away from my Adsense profits, and I may not get 'Dugg,' or 'StumbledUpon' as much as the niche, hip bloggers; but if I can help just one person live free of the illusions and dellusions we've all been forced to labor under, then my work is done, and that to me is worth a million Diggs, pageviews, or however else internet success is measured these days.
More knols on changing the world
We keep hearing people everywhere talk about changing everywhere we look. One special condition in this case is that, no matter how long we keep hearing about changing the world, it will never become a cliche, until we actually succeed in changing the world. The calls to change the world are akin to desire for sex and food, in that even though it has been around for eons of time, it is still extremely necessary to our survival as a people. Anyone who doesn't feel that the world needs changing should take a look at the headlines from around the world, and look right in their own backyard to see what's going on.
This brings me to my first step in changing the world, which is that the first requirement in changing the world is to get utterly fed up with the status quo. Until we are tired of the suffering befalling us and our fellow human beings, we will never get off our complacent bottoms to make any changes. This being said, I believe it is appropriate to shed some light on some of the possible causes for the present state of things.
Due to technology, we have managed to extract, refine, and create enough resources to satisfy the needs of everyone living the world, but there is still plenty of lack. The problem is uneven distribution of resources, which is caused by the greed prevalent in our modern society. Think of how often you hear money talk, and then try to estimate how often the line of speaking was about doing charitable work - rarely. Its mainly 'save' and 'invest' (which are very wise), but then there's the selfish 'spend', 'buy this TV', 'take a vacation here', and other indulgent uses of money.
Nothing is wrong with a little self-gratification, but shouldn't there also be some altruism thrown in there too. Think about it. Shouldn't we help our fellow human being while enjoying ourselves? We might say 'well we earned it and its ours'. This is absolutely true, and I congratulate the honest earners for all their hardwork and productivity. But let us also remember that the platform on which we are able to earn these large sums of money is blessing to us, which we as the masses cannot take credit for. We have a stable government and a prosperous economy (which despite its downturn is still the richest in the world), which lets us earn and spend freely. Wouldn't it be nice if we could extend a helping hand to others to help them acheive similarly prosperous structures? This way, we would have partners in progress who would in return aid us in our pursuit of hapiness. This kind of cooperation is what we need to make a stable world, which would be more secure for everybody.
These steps seem like they are the business of the government, the diplomats and the foreign-policy makers. But who is the government, if not you and I? It's a democracy isn't it? We are the government, and we choose who amongst us get to hold the seats as executors of our powers. The government responds to the needs of the people, and if the people continually make heavy demands for consumption to satisfy themselves, the the government will follow suit and make policies that guarantee the country's economic leverage, even if it means playing dirty international politics, and refusing to help other countries get out of poverty, so there will be continuous supply of cheap labor to produce the demands of its people's huge appetites.
If we as a people curb our greed, the by a domino effect, we will notice more fairness and compassion in our leaders, since they no longer need to propagate unsympathetic policies in order to satisfy us. It might take a while, but I have some hope based on recent trends of compassion and discretion, that we will gradually grow ourselves a heart and become our brother's keepers, which will in turn make our brothers better capable of helping us out. In the end, everybody is better off. I believe this can be somehow related to the Nash Equilibrium
Power of money
Making your own money is quite the dream these days. But it is not just a modern fad, as it is the direct result of our inner desire to live and thrive. It is tied to our desire for freedom. We don't just want to live, but we want to live well. I'm not endorsing greed, because there are those whose engine of desire is simply to further themselves, without regard to their environment or fellow man. But I salute those who do good things with their money, or at least intend to do so when the money comes.
However we go about it, whether by hunting for a high-paying job, or trying to start a lucrative business, we gotta admit that we all want to make money, not just for the reputation, but for the ability to effect positive change, as opposed to merely talking about it, which is exactly all you can do when you have no money. This ties back in to the 'How to change the world' conundrum. Wanting to make money is a good thing when it is driven by a desire to use that money to do good things.
24 Season 7
Season 7 of 24 is coming to the air in January 2008, marking the return of our favorite non-super hero Jack Bauer. The writer's guild strike deprived us of seeing it this January, but this time its almost certain we'll get to see it.
All the recent controversy regarding torture conducted by security officials in real life terror investigations spilled over into the fictional life of Jack Bauer, influencing the script in a passive manner. While jack is not made to torture less, those around him push to keep him in check. He is even arraigned before a congressional panel for a hearing regarding his rough handling.
Beside this, there are also other significant changes to the show, some of which may be spoilers, so i'll refrain from giving too much information. What I can say, is that it begins with Jack hiding out in Africa, where he gets caught in the middle of a coup. Also, there is the return of past character, whose presence is made even more shocking by his conversion to being a villan this time.
There is already an official preview out on youtube, but I must warn that it contains some spoilers.
Same ol trick
Fish bait, mouse traps and fly traps. They have one thing in common, which us that they lure unsuspecting victims to their demise. Word on the street is that people are smarter than creatures (which is true), but everywhere we look, and even throughout history, we see how deception has overcome so many over and over again. The Trojan Horse comes to mind because it is the classic example of how seemingly intelligent people are beguiled by means which seem obvious in retrospect. Looking at the mortgage crisis today, i say we've been deceived using the same formula the Greeks used on the Trojans.
In the Trojan Horse story, the Greeks offered the large wooden horse as a token of surrender to the Trojans, who accepted it without proper inspection, and even brought the horse into their city walls. Likewise, the mortgage lenders lured us with sub-prime loans as a token of our chance at the American dream, and we gladly accepted them without looking closely at the terms, to see whether we could actually afford the payments. Just like the Trojans, we got taken advantage of. Now we do not carry majority of the blame, since we naturally trusted that the government would not permit the banks to screw us over, and since we assumed that the banks would not risk that much money if they didn't really belive we could pay. Now the foreclosure rates have soared to their highest in our history, now double the rate they were at the same time last year. I guess we all learned our lesson now, and we will definitely be very cautious about throwing our trust at the large institutions, no longer naively assuming that they always have our best interest at heart. This has been a very humbling experience for us all, and it just shows us that the system is not as well-wired as we thought it was. Since the old illusion of safety is gone, I dare say we will see a revolution in our spending and consuming habits. We will henceforth learn to live within our means, spending only what we can presently afford.
There are already several families that have begun to eat less as food prices go up, and we already began to drive less a while ago in response to the gas hike. I hope this translates to an all around humility, because now that we and the rest of the world clearly see that we are not as steadfast as we claimed to be, we need to come to our senses and quit falling for the traps of the illusions of grandness. It is impossible for a whole nation of people to live like kings. The mortgage crisis came from this very assumption that we can all own our own castles and we've seen that its impossible. We must refrain from digging ourselves into debt in order to live 'The American Dream'. The true American Dream is justice and equality, giving everyone the chance to pursue their own gold, but the distorted version is that gold is handed out to everyone. As long as we have this justice, we should be content, whether we live in a house or an apartment; watch a CRT or a flat screen; or drive a Toyota or a Lexus. As long as we are comfortable, it should be good enough, and we should no longer be lured into financial distress by trying to acquire more.
The IDF's Krav Maga
The Israeli Defense Forces, world renowned bad asses are credited with their own martial art of Krav Maga, which enables them to disarm and destroy pretty much any any opponent, even if he is twice their size, even if he has a gun. In other words, they train their soldiers to bring a fist to gun fight. Even their girls aren't scared to take on a raging gangster. So how badass krav Maga that it lets unarmed girls engage armed men twice their size? Well I do say it is badass enough to be featured on History Channel's Human Weapon, Discovery Channel's Fight Quest, and National Geographic's Fight Science.
Brief History: Krav Maga, directly translated in Hebrew as 'Close Combat' or 'Contact Fight' was developed by a Hebrew fighter named Imi Lichtenfield in the 1930's while he was in Hungary and Czechoslovakia , and he taught it to Jewish communities so they could protect themselves from Nazis. He developed his techniques so well, that upon the establishment of Israel as a state in 1948, he became the head of physical fitness for the IDF, prior to which he had been teaching it to their underground forces.
Krav Maga is developed as a practical Martial Art, except its more martial than art, emphasizing quick and effective movements which are stripped of finesse and pack with deadly hits, takedowns, and disarms. Krav Maga lessons deal extensively with the physiological weakness of the human structure, which even the strongest people have. It also touches on the psychology of attacks, such as not looking an attacker directly in the eye, since eye movements could alert an attacker that the defending party is about to make sudden moves.
Krav Maga instructors responsibly warn their students to engage armed attackers only if they believe that there is no other way to avoid harm. For example, don't fight a mugger if he just wants your wallet and some money, coz he'll just take it and let you be. But if you're about to be murdered or kidnapped, then you must fight to save your life using the precise techniques learned in Krav Maga.
But enough said. Check out the Commando Krav Maga site for yourself.
How to change the world
Since its already a general consensus that the present state of the world is deplorable, I will not bog down on details about the specific global maladies. But specific information can be found here. We've seen so much oppression and suffering, but on the bright side, there's also been a lot of positive effort to improve things. There's the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, UNESCO, UNICEF and other global programs that have been around for a while. There are also the newer Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as numerous other charities owned by wealthy philanthropist. But despite all these efforts, it seems the problem is as strong as ever, if not getting worse.
So I came to wonder, 'How would the world be successfully changed?' What does it take for the living conditions of the poor and suffering to improve, but more urgently, how can we halt the tribal conflicts, ethnic violence, and civil wars that are plaguing populations around the globe? Is it a matter of will, or is it a matter of means? We could have a whole debate about who is responsible, whether it is the governments of the developed nations not doing enough to help, or whether it is the governments of the suffering nations destroying their own people through greed and corruption. But we can agree that no matter where the finger points, something needs to be done about global suffering, and it should be done as soon as yesterday.
The worst thing about the problem is that it has nothing to do with the willingness of the suffering masses to work their way out, because these people work as hard as is humanly possible. They dig wells for themselves, farm for their food, and work long grueling hours doing hard manual labor, in exchange for meager pay. Despite their efforts, they still continue to suffer because they don't have access to filtration systems for clean water, they lack fertilizer for agriculture, and worst of all, medicine and health care are beyond reach for a lot of them. So if it is not the laziness of those suffering that perpetuates the problem, what else could be culprit?
As hinted, scarcity of resources is the main pillar of the crisis. Clean water, farm equipment, and health care cost a lot. It may be ironic to us when we hear about the numerous resources these countries have, like oil and precious & rare metals. It is more curious when we hear about the obscene amounts of money their leaders pilfer. It is clear that not all these countries lack money, so the problem then, is that their governments are corrupts. Therefore the quickest way to change the world would be to place stable governments of integrity throughout the world. This stability would end corruption as well as halt civil conflicts, thereby ensuring peace in those nations. So the next problem is how to establish stable governments around the world.
Every nation is considered a sovereign entity on its own, so it is very difficult to interfere in their politics, and the other alternative of diplomacy is generally lengthy and usually unsure. The corrupt leaders in these nations have become so accustomed to the ease with which they can amass great wealth, that they are usually very hostile to any attempts to derail their gravy train, whether from foreign governments or internal opposition. They've proven in the past, as in the case of Idi Amin of Uganda, and the more recent Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, that they are willing to use lethal force to retain their position. So think how hard it would be for any to try to 'sweet talk' them in the name of 'diplomacy'.
This problem is the major bottleneck of global stability, and if we could end greed and corruption, we can change the world. I guess the resulting question now is 'How can we end corruption in the world?' There are so many approaches to this problem, and even as this is being written, conscientous effort is being made worldwide to end tyranny, but as we can see, its not gonna be that easy. The fist of evil grips tightly around the throat of global peace, and we have to willing to pry it off. The problem now is how to go about it. I as an individual have tried to enlighten others about the problem, and make my small charitable contributions to aid organizations, but a lot more needs to be done. For now we can hope, but hope does not feed stomachs or clothe bodies, so we need more than just hope.
It is a real shame that while knowledge has increased to the point where we we can land remote-controlled vehicles on other planets, there are still those on our own planet who still can't afford to eat twice a day. We really ought to put our minds to this, coz it is our duty as priviledged individuals to look out for those who cannot afford to live well, and do not even have the means to earn a good living, no matter how hard they work.
Wikiversity looking to become most successful open university
I was just looking at Wikipedia and I happened to stumble upon a link to their Wikiversity page, and I must admit that its pretty cool. Its a logical step for them to take, since the main Wikipedia site is already a one-stop-shop destination for knowledge on practically every subject. Even Google searches tend to place Wikipedia answers in their top five results. So as it went, I naturally gave it a try, and I checked out their program on Electronics Engineering (which is my field), and I was impressed with the content I found.
First of all, you go through an orientation page which gives some basic introductions and guidelines, and after this come the evaluation test. Since Electronics is a science field, the test evaluates basic working knowledge of Mathematics (Algebra and Trigonometry), Physics, and Chemistry. After looking through this, I then returned to the main page and browsed through the course links and referrence material, and I found it to be adequate. It even gives a link to the MIT Opencourseware in one of the pages.
While some of the pages are in need of some more building, I figure its only a matter of time before some of the affliated academicians load on course material from their own syllabuses, especially those who fill and edit the regular Wikipedia entries. The concept of open universities has been around for a while, and there are already numerous lecture videos on Youtube, with some universities having their own Youtube channels. But a platform of knowledge like Wikipedia is the perfect place for compling lectures on different fields, as it is only a stonethrow away from their rgular wiki format anyways.
Tough as an egg are you?
I don't know if it's just me, but does it seem to anyone that the ratio of tough guys to significant achievements is rather low? Let me put it this way, for a group of people who love to throw around words and terms like 'manly', 'real man', 'strong man', and so on, you'd expect there to be a lot of brave guys who would actually go out and make things happen.
I'll tell you what I've observed. It turns out that most guys are not as tough as they project themselves to be. And thats all there is to their toughness: 'projection', coz in reality, a lot of those who do all that bragging are nothing but hot air. Online, they create anonymous profiles so they can talk crap on any and everybody. They'll sit down and diss the government from behind a keyboard, but they won't go out to vote on policies. They'll whine about the environment, but can't suck it up and ride a scooter or a bicycle coz they're scared to death of loosing their 'reputation'. In this case, no one should be teasing anyone for trying to be economical, especially not with gas costing what does today. But anyone who claims to care should suck it up and save the environment. Besides, scooters are pretty cool, and are a cheap alternative to motorcycles.
Courage has its boundaries that keep it from turning into hardheadedness, but I bet we're all sick and tired of hearing words that never lead to any action. After a prolonged period of hearing empty words, the hearers eventually get tired and discredit the loud mouths. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to end that webtoughness crap. We don't need any studio activists. We want real results, and if the results are not being produced, then let there be silence. Period.
Writer's gold
How would it be to make $400 a day. I just talking with my cousin the other day, and he mentioned to me that he knew a writer whose articles sell for $200 a piece, and they're usually short enough that he can write 2 articles a day. It sounds pretty unbelievable, but wow! imagine if you could land a gravy train like that. If you did that every day of the week, you'd be making $146,000 a year. Assuming you wanted to take one day off to refresh your mind, that would still be a whopping $124,800 every year. But if you still wanted more rest, and worked the regular five-day week, then you still have 104,000 piggys for the piggy bank. Now I don't know about yall, but I could definitely do some good with that money. I'm just fantasizing here, but I invite yall to dream with me. How nice would it be? Sad thing though, that from where I stand, I can't possibly see a way to parlay my writing skills in such manner. Maybe some of yall have ideas in the works, like a novel, or something else. Isn't that the ultimate dream of a writer, to see that his works are highly valued. Its not firstly about the money, but about capturing people's minds with the fantasies that came from your innermost thoughts. Its about sharing your experience with the world. And if the world really enjoys that experience, then maybe its not so bad that the world should in return make your living more comfortable. How would that be for a reward? Like I said, I'm just fantasizing here, but I hope we can dream together.
Some thoughts about our home
When you speak to most people today about environmental pollution, the general line of speaking tends to lead to the conclusion that "Yes its messed up, but what can we do about it?" or the less reverent "By the time it gets that bad, we'll all be dead anyway" While it seems that it is difficult to control the avalanche of pollution that is driven by our modernization, it is also true that the situation would be alleviated if people cared more. Why do we have to label everyone who is trying to 'save the planet' the derogatory 'treehugger'? Other terms like 'ecogeek' and 'greenfreak' are being thrown around too.
A few decades ago DDT was freely used without regulation until the god mother of environmentalism, Rachel Carson, published her famous book Silent Spring, which sparked interest in the environmental impact of pesticides and other chemicals, and indirectly led to the creation of the EPA. It was already known amonst scientist that DDT was harmful to humans and other lifeforms, but if not for Rachel Carsons initiative, imagine how many more species might have gone extinct. Certainly a lot more than the current number of extinctions. Also imagine the consequences of the wide use of such a carcinogenic on global health. She didn't manage to save the world, but I can only imagine it would have been better off if more action had been taken to reduce the environmental impact of industrial and agricultural products.
We pollute the environment during the extraction of raw materials, the transportation of these raw materials, the production of finished goods, the transportation of the goods, and afterwards, we pile massive land fills with the non-biodegradable packaging that we could easily recycle. Things might not be as bad as they used to, but we all have to admit that they could certainly be better. People complain about environmentalists always preaching and lecturing, but what else can we do? Afterall, we're just looking out for our children and their children, and so on; and by the way, ourselves too. If all the science about prolonging life yeilds the results it is supposed to, then we too will be alive to drink, inhale, and eat the mess we are creating. Howz that for not crapping where you eat?
At the same time, we don't carry all the blame because the industries themselves could certainly do more to reduce their pollutant output, and our governments should implement more and better recycling programs. I just hope things change soon, coz I bet we would all appreciate breathing clean air and drinking clean water in the future.
Let's try to give some solace
To whom? Have you looked at headlines lately, theres just so much about the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) our soldiers are suffering. The problem has always been, but it's just now receiving attention on this scale. The term PTSD makes this problem sound less serious than it actually is. Instead of calling it PTSD, we should HITB, which stands for Hell In The Brain, because that is just what it feels like when you've gone through some seriously crazy times, which stick with you afterwards, and even though the tough times are past, the memory is so vivid, that its just too hard to get your mind out of the pit. Nightmares would be an amusement park ride compared to this. If you thought those bad memories of getting teased and taunted back in high school were anything, then try living perpetually in warzone thats in your head, where unlike a live warzone, you can't really fight back, but you simply sit back overcome with morbid fear. The sesations of horror are so vivid, that some actually end their lives just to escape the memories. If you thought watching a horror movie was bad, then imagine how bad it would be to be physically surrounded by death, and then for years and years to come those memories kept interfering with your normal life.
PTSD should be taken very seriously. It's tragic that the soldiers have to suffer so much. We all keep crying for troop withdrawal (which we should be), for for some of those soldiers, even after we pull them off the battlefield, their minds would still be immersed in a war zone. What can we do and what we say, except to sympatize with those who are suffering. It also makes those of us who are out here appreciate the safety and comfort we are enjoying. While we worry that we are going to have to live in an apartment instead of a house, or complain that we can only afford Toyota instead of a Lexus, or a Ford instead of a Lincoln, there are those who are perpetually living in fear of getting shot or blown apart, and some of them are going to retain that fear in their minds for a long long time after the physical danger is past. I know I'm no Psychologist or trained therapist, but as an individual who is concerned, I have to chip my two-cents worth to try to comfort someone who is suffering. We should all sympatize with our soldiers, and although this is just a small blog, I'm hoping that a few veterans and their families might perhaps stumble upon this article, and find a little solace from a college kid who cannot say he knows what they're going through, but can at least say 'May God's love reach you and ease your suffering'
How dark does the night have to be before we see the stars clearly?

No, I am not talking about celebrities. I am not even talking about movies, for those of you who expected some reference to the latest Batman movie. I'm just throwing down a few thoughts about stuff. You know, trying to ramble a little and see if I can throw in some sense every here and there. The world seems to be going crazy these days, with all the oil price fluctuations, and all the economic scares worrying everybody.
I just want to try and put things into perspective to at least give some solace to a worried mind. No, I'm not going to try to portray whatever bright sides there might be the whole deal. Sure, there's the environmental plus derived from the high energy costs leading consumers to use less, thereby generating fewer emissions. There's also the benefit that its forcing industries and engineers to accelerate alternative energy sources, which will eventually reduce the demand for oil, hence diminishing its exertion on world politics. This might just be a chance solution to the middle east crisis after all.
Whatever good or evil may come out of the turmoil is not my focus here. I would like to address another important issue, which is how we should perceive the world, now that we have infallible evidence that the systems we've built our entire lives around are not as stable as we thought. I would like to take this time to ask that we reflect within and evaluate our goals. In the consumerist stream we swim in, we have come to place possessions over the owners, placing more value on 'having', rather than 'being'. Think about how much time we spend perusing and shopping, as opposed to actually investing time in those who are supposed to use those things in the first place. I'm basically pointing my flashlight at the family structure we've come to adopt.
Every human being is a gem, whether they're wearing diamonds or not. But judging by the images and thoughts being propagated around, you'd almost believe that one has to wear the latest fashion, drive the latest car, and own the latest gadgets in order to matter. It's so distorted, that we now make 'shoe-contact' and 'watch-contact' before even thinking about 'eye-contact'. So now, Joe Average has to work himself extra long and hard to impress the Joneses, while Jane Average has to go out and work as well, if she wants to wear the same Chanel and Prada she saw Christy Fabulous wearing on the TV commercial. Meanwhile, little Jack Average and Jill Average end up spending less and less time with their parents as a family, which they probably don't notice, because they're too busy worrying about how they're gonna get the new Sidekick and iPhone to match their friends, whose parents bought them those those things using the third family credit card. But none of this matters, coz the Averages can cast all their worry out of their minds while they're munching on the fat-packed, cholestorol-loaded, artificially-flavored food in the drive through. At the same time, the Fabulouses the Awesomes are hard at work drafting the next line of goods, as well the catchy ads to match, which they will push to the market for the Averages to continue to strive for.
I personally own a PDA phone, drive a Jeep, and eat a Junior Bacon cheese burger every chance I get, so every finger I point comes back to me, but my basic gist is that, I'm not gonna work myself so many hours, that I can't take time to enjoy the most fabulously designed piece of technology on Earth, my fellow human beings. Let's not put so much pressure on each other, and perhaps the stress will go down. We could take a few minutes to enjoy cooking a nice meal and eat together as a family, and maybe we'll just find ourselves healthier. But at the end of the day: I'm just saying, and it's just a thought.
Sorry to mount the high horse on yall, but I hope we're still friends, and that you come back and visit me soon. In the meantime, enjoy that burger, but try a nice bowl of soup if you wanna savor something a little different.
Pilot: Lets see how this baby handles
What does he mean "Lets crack this code together?" Settle down and lets ride this bus together. I'll be your driver for today. Hopefully you love the routes I take and return to bus next time.
I'm just a college kid taking a shot at this whole blogging thing. I love to write, and I love to talk about pressing stuff. I guess its just fitting that I should come on here and make posts. I'll try to mix in as much sincerity, creativity, and enlightenment, (perhaps humor) as I can. I'm really gonna try to emphasize the sincerity part, especially since, as I gather from the streams of articles and comments I peruse often on the web, that we are all tired of pretentiousness. I'm gonna try to ensure that my claims are genuine, and that I don't lay claim to more knowledge than I possess. Let's face it: Anyone who knows so much about the world would not just sit down typing about it, but would use their 'knowledge' to achieve tangible results, whether for personal gains, or for other stimuli. We've all come across too many 'know-it-alls' who are actually 'know-it-nots', and I'm essentially promising you that I will not be one of them. If you should ever detect any air of presumptuousness in this or any of my subsequent writings, then feel free to call me out with a comment. I'll appreciate you keeping me in check, but as always, try not to berate, and keep it constructive yall.
It's a short ride today, and we've come to the end of our short journey. Hope you enjoyed the drive.
Thank You! Come Again!
